• A Danish lorry driver, Mr P. E. Knudsen, was imprisoned for nine months at Newcastle Crown Court this week following the seizing by Customs of the biggest ever consignment of pornography being brought into Britain. It was said that 33 boxes containing more than 10,000 magazines and 300 films were hidden behind carpet underfelting in the lorry. The consignment could have been sold for more than £70,000 and Mr Knudsen was to have received £270 for delivering the boxes.
