A It depends on the definition of the term " "road fleet-. In 1966 British Road Services had 19,247 motor vehicles and 9,666 additional trailers, making a total of 28,913. The corresponding figures for British Railways are motor vehicles 10,010, additional trailers 18,226, making a total of 28,236,
