RECEIVE a training grant, a firm must be registered with the RTITB and must have paid all due levies.
Any off-the-job training or further education will qualify for a grant of 30s. a day for junior grades and £3 a day for adults. On-the-job training grants for operatives will be restricted to certain categories.
A grant of £100 a year will be paid for craft and commercial apprentices being trained on the job, provided they follow an approved course of further education.
For management and professional trainees there will be grants of 30s. a day under 21 and £6 a day for adults for off-thejob training and courses. For on-the-job training with an approved written programme, respective rates will be 30s. and £3, up to a maximum of £90 and £150.
Sandwich course training will qualify for grants. For periods at college, an employer will receive up to £100 a year, provided he pays a similar amount to the trainee. And for in-works training, he may claim 30s. a day for under 21 students and £3 a day for those over 21.
Supplementary grants include £1,000 a year for training officers and £500 for instructors. Others are outlined in RTITB information bulletin No. 3, available from Capitol House, Empire Way, Wembley.
