On the first day of the. Show.,. Tuesday, the opening time is 8 a.m., on other days 9 -a.m., closing time is at 8 p.m. each day. Prices of admission are: Tuesday, El; Wednesday, les. up to 2 p.m. and 5s. after; Thursday, 5s.; Friday, 2s. 6d. Vehide parking charges are : Coaches, les. per day, and .cars, 5s.

VEHICLES AND TRAILERS In addition to three A40 models, art A70 with Countryman body, a 25-cwt. three-way van and two drop-side trucks. the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., Longhridge, Birmingham (Stand 163 F), will have two cattle trucks mounted on 5-ton long-wheelbase chassis. One of these will have a general-purpose body by Marshall Motor Bodies, Ltd., of Cambridge. and the other a containertype body by Jennings of Sandbach. The Marshall body is of the convertible type and can be used either as a dropside vehicle or with .a platform body. tS?..e under Marshall Motor Bodies, Ltd.) One of the biggest single exhibits will he that staged by Commer Cars, Ltd., Luton. on Stand 164 E.'" This contern will be showing 13 vehicles ranging in slic from the Commer 8-cwt. Supervan,. to the Commer 10-ton forward-control tractor and vah trailer. The convertible cattle truck to be shown, which is fitted with Carmichael quickly removable livestock container, is based on a Commer 3-4-ton SuPerpoise chassis.

Six vehicles will be shown by Dodge Bros. (Britain), Ltd., Mortlake Road, Kew Gardens, Surrey. (Stand 166 13). One of these, Model 64. which is a 2-3-tonner,. will be shown with a cattle truck body by Jennings. Model 105/P.6, a 5-tonner with 13-ft. 9-in. wheelbase, is powered by a Perkins P.6 oil engine. It will be shown with a drop-side lorry body.

All Wheels Driven Two tractor-type vehicles will form the exhibit of Douglas Equipment, Ltd., Kirtgsditch Lane,. Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham, on Stand 635 D. These machines, which are of the specialpurpose type, are powered by an A.E.C. 125 b.lr.p. oil engine. The chassis specification includes a fourspeed gearbox and a two-speed auxiliary

transfer box. One of these vehicles will be a four-wheeler and the other a six-wheeler, all wheels being driven in both cases. .

A range of lightweight trailers will he shown -by. Evesliam Trailers, Lid., Lower Leys,,EveShatn, on Stand 605 E. the Evesham Sturdy tipper trailer is provided with a screw-type hand

tipping gear.. It has a loading capacity of 3-4 tons.

Three Foden four-wheeled• lorries will be exhibited on Stand 323 B by Foderis' Ltd., Elsworth Works, Sandbach, Cheshire. The models to be shown are the 0G.4/6 and F0.4/7i, both with flat-platform bodies, and an OG.4/6 end-tipper with Pilot hydraulic tipping gear. All three are powered by Gardner four-cylindered oil engines. A saloon-pattern cab is fitted to the FG. model, which has a body length of 17 ft. 6 ins., and is 7 ft. 6 ins. wide. This vehicle is equipped with 36 by 8 heavy-duty tyres all round. The endtipper has a 9 ft.-long body, which is 6 ft. 6 ins, wide inside, and has hinged sides which are 2 ft. 3 ins. deep.

A complete range of Fordson Thames elissis will be shown by the Ford Motor Co' Ltd.,Dagenham, on Stand 3-04 D. These will include the standard 5-ewt. van, and the 10-cwt. model which Is to he shown as a van, truck and estate car. The 2-tonner will be shown as a truck and as a standard van. A farmer's utility livestock body, by Alfred Miles, Ltd., Carlton Street, Cheltenham, will be seen on the Fordson 3-ton chassis. The usual rope, hooks and bull rings are provided, and the interior is free from projections. A de luxe threehorse body by. Lambourn Garages, Ltd., Lam/1(mm. Berks. on the Thames 4-ton

chassis wall form another exhibit. It accommodates three horses, all facing forward, and movable bucket seats are provided for four grooms in the driver's compartment. The largest exhibit on this stand will be the 5-tonner chassis and cab fitted with a Walter Jekta telescopic general-purpose body. (See also under tractors.)

A. number of bodies -made by .I. H. Jennings and Sons, Ltd., Sandbach, Ciieshire, will be found on chassis manufacturers' stands at the Show. There will be a rigid cattle-truck body on a Bedford 5-ton chassis on the Vauxhall stand. A cattle container truck mounted on. an Austin 5-ton chassis, to be shown by Austins, and a Jennings rigid cattle truck will be seen on the stand of the Nuffield Organization. A fourth exhibit by Jennings will be a container cattle truck on a Dodge 5-ton long-wheelbase model.

A Versatile Vehicle The versatile Land-Rover will be staged in a dumber of new forms on Stand 244 F, by the maker, the Rover Co., Ltd., Meteor Works, Solihull, Birmingham. This model was designed primarily for agricultural Use and is readily adaptable for a wide range of tasks. The Land-Rover is powered by an overhead-valve petrol engine and has a main and transfer box supplying eight forward ratios.

A range of trailers of from 15 cwt. to 6 tons capacity will be exhibited by the Low Loading Trailer Co., Ltd., Dean Street, Goldington Road, Bedford, on Stand 173 C. The 15-cwt., general-purpose model is available with a detachable cattle cage and cover, enabling a beast or pony to be carried. Sheep will travel in two tiers when an upper floor is provided. The fourwheeled trailer chassis of 50-cwt. payload-capacity has been developed for use with light tractors. The front axle is centrally pivoted to prevent frame distortion on rough ground. This trailer is particularly useful in orchards for the collection of fruit boxes. In addition to three examples of bodywork by Marshall Motor Bodies, Ltd., Airport Works, Cambridge, on the bodybuilder's own stand, 182 E, there will be a Marshall general-purpose convertible-type cattle truck body tined to an Austin 5-ton chassis on the Austin stand. The bodybuilder, will be exhibiting a rigid-sided' double-deck cattle truck with., divided and springassisted rear ramp on a Bedford 5-ton chassis. This body has interlocking gates, a calf door at the, front and a top deck which hinges to the body sides when not required. On a Thornycroft Sturdy chassis there will be an extraheavy-duty platform body with removable stanchions and chains. The third exhibit will be a general-purpose cattle truck body, on an Austin Loadstar 2-ton chassis, which is convertible to a drop-side or platform body. This body has a divided detachable ramp and a tailboard which is supplied loose for fining when the vehicle is required as a truck. This type of body is particularly suitable for carrying sugarbeet.

A representative selection of Morris Commercial vehicles and Morris light vans will be found on Stand 146 E, to he occupied by the Nuffield Organisation, Cowley, Oxford. Included among them is the new Cowley delivery van, which was described in "The Commercial Motor" on May 19. The smaller Morris 5-cwt. van will also be shown. The Morris exhibits include a 1-type 10-cwt. forward-control delivery van which has a large body capacity for its class, and a 15-20-cwt. parcels van. The 2-3-ton lorry Will also be exhibited, together with three 5-ton petrol and oilengincd chassis with tipping and cattle truck bodies. (Sec also under tractoM.1 The Motocart, a road-test report on which is given in this issue, will appear on Stand 249 D. This front-wheeldrive three-wheeled load-carrier is made by S. E. Opperman, Ltd., Stuart Works, Stirling Corner, Boreham Wood, Herts. The company will also be showing a variety of agricultural equipment, together with a four-wheel-drive attachment which fits on to existing rear axles of load-carrying vehicles for crosscountry operation.

Two horsebox (milers will be exhibited by Rice Trailers (Rice Caravans), Ltd., Cosby, Leicester, on Stand 663 G.

Stand 668 H will be occupied by the Road Haulage Association. A livestock •

vehicle will be shown, fitted up as an exhibition depicting the work done by hauliers under free enterprise.

A number of twoand four-wheeled trailers to be shown by the Salop Trailer Co" Ltd., Midland Carriage Works, Old Coleham, Shrewsbury, on Stand 378 B, will include a 4-5-ton lowloading fixed body machine with a I4-ft. 6-in. body. It has been designed for potato cropping, or 'similarwork calling for extra low-loading. The floor height is approximately 2 ft. 4 ins. Also to be shown on this stand is a 4-ton three-way tipping trailer with manually operated hydraulic ram which 'gives a tip of 45 degrees in all directions.

A three-horse-box body on a Guy Vixen passenger chassis will be featured by G. C. Smith (Coachworks), Ltd., Long Whatton, Leicester, on Stand 241 G. This body has all-metal ramps of light-alloy contraction which are fitted with flush-type fasteners. The second exhibit will be a container cattle-truck body mounted on a MorrisCommercial 5-ton long-wheelbase chassis. The framework of the body is of seasoned oak and the ramps are fitted with special spring assisters. The fittings include a special type of sheep deck and partitions. A number of commercial and agricultural trailers will also be shown.

Various types of twoand fourwheeled trailer of from 2to 10-ton capacity will form the exhibit of Taskers of Andover (1932), Ltd., Waterloo Iron Works, Andover, Hants, on Stand 395 C. The 2-3-ton twowheeled models are equipped • with hydraulic tipping bodies. At the other end of the scale there will be a 10-ton drop-frame model suitable for trans

porting heavy plant where low-loading is necessary. The 10-tonner is arranged for side or end loading, and the rear toile assembly' can be removed to facilitate the operation. Various appli ances for collecting crops, excavating trenches, and lifting apparatus will also be found on this 'stand.

The Tye Trailer Co., Ltd., of Hull Road, York, will be showing.three two wheeled trailers a 3-ton capacity and 4and 6-ton four-wheeled :trailers on Stand 374.C. These trailers are identical in respect of their channel frame construction, and are designed to withstand a -25 _per cent, overload for agricultural work.

Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., Luton, Beds, will be showing six versions of Bedford

chassis, mounting a number of types of body, from a light delivery van on a 10-12-cwt. chassis to a 5-ton long wheelbase cattle truck with a body by Jennings, of Sandbach. There will be a 7-seater Utilecon vehicle with body by Martin Walker, Ltd., of Folkestone, and a 2-3-ton long-wheelbase farm wagon with bodywork by City Motors,

of Oxford. Included in the exhibits is a three-horse-box body made by Vincents, of Reading. Accommodation for foul grooms is provided at the rear of the body. (Stand 147 F.) A two-horse-box four-wheeled trailer will be among the exhibits of Vincents of Reading, Ltd., Station Square,

Reading, on Stand 464 G. This trailer, fully padded and matted throughout, is fitted with spring-controlled, rear loading and side unloading ramps. It is equipped with' steadying legs for .

loading, and has a ball-joint towing gear and an automatic and hand controlled braking arrangement. Also exhibited on this stand will be• a live-. stock vehicle, incorporating a Luton

type front, on an Austin chassis and cab. This body has an adjustable 'double-deck, and -sheepramp, both of which are stowed beneath the vehicle when not in use. A third-model will be a three-horsebox on a Bedford chassis.
