• Plaxton has laid off another 20 staff at its manufacturing plant in Scarborough. Most of the redundancies are service or administration staff.
At the beginning of July more than 100 seasonal staff did not have their contracts extended, but Plaxton managing director Neil Beresford says that normally the temporary staff would only have been kept on until May, and that the company has a healthy order book through to the end of the year.
