Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Toyota (GB) says it will not be bringing in any heavier Japanese-built light commercial models when the Volkswagenbuilt Hi Lux pickup, which is not quota controlled, arrives in the UK.

The joint Volkswagen/Toyota deal (CM 25 June-2 July) will allow Toyota (GB) to bring in more Japanese-built light commercial vehicles within its current import quota, including a heavier chassis cab mode] to replace the discontinued Hi Ace chassis cab — but the company says that it will probably use any extra capacity to import additional Lite Ace compact panel vans. Under the joint deal the German vehicle manufacturer will build 4 x 2 and 4x4 versions of the existing Toyota Hi Lux model at its Hanover assembly plant.

These vehicles will be sold in Europe by both Toyota and Volkswagen, under their own respective badges.
