DEVON County Council has made proposals to carry advert ments on some of its 800-strong fleet of vehicles that could brin £250,000 of extra revenue each year.
The council is now looking for ideas from advertising companies and is prepared to consider the use of any vehicle for advertising purposes including an overall livery for certain vehicles.
The cost of implementing the scheme could be as much as £100,000 and will include careful examination of all the proposed adverts. The council has drawn up a list of forbidden adverts, including party political, birth control, and services that might compete with council services. A pilot scheme will be use test the viability of the wf scheme and to identify any rr agement problems. The sche will take some months to gel the ground, as the county cc cil is still making reports on scheme.
