SCORPIO INTERNATIONAL has taken delivery of 15 Freightmaster frameless vans built at York Trailer's Northallerton plant. The trailers are plated at 31.50 tonnes gross trailer weight for 36 tonnes gcw but will be operated at the lower 32.50tonne rate.

Fully equipped to carry hanging garments, the 12m (39.37ft) long, 2.59m (8.5ft) high interior is plwyood lined, fitted with tinted translucent roof and a wide slat, roof sliding shutter in lieu of doors. A 230mm (Sin) steel kickstrip is fitted to protect the interior walls when loading textile skips.

The trailers are fitted with York's own running gear.

Scorpio's purchase brings its fleet of semi-trailer vans to a total of 60, with 32 tractive units and 76 rig ids.
