Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DIAMOND danger signs on trucks loaded with dangerous goods should not be in a secret code and the public should be able to understand what they mean.

The "make it clear" call comes from the Chemical Industries Association which says that the code should be explained in a publicity campaign mounted by the Government.

Association director-general Martin Trowbridge said in a letter to chief executives in the chemical industry that the diamond system would be far more effective than "launching into more colourful or complicated schemes for tanker marking."

He also called for the introduction of new construction rules for tankers which would help, with the diamonds for danger symbols and the industry code of practice, to increase safety in trucks with hazardous loads.

In his letter Mr Trowbridge notes that the code of practice is being successfully developed. He also says that a training scheme for training drivers is nroeressin2.
