AS a result of a prospective settlement of the dispute between Liverpool Corporation and. the Ribble and Crosville, companies, arising out of the running of local services, the applications, by the three parties, which were to have Genie before the North-Western Traffic Commissioners this week, have been adjourned sine die.
The passenger. transport committee submitted to Wednesday's meeting of the city council, a 10-year agreement with the railway companies and the Ribble and Crosville companies.
It is proposed that services running wholly in zone A (Liverpool, Bootle, and parts of H,uyton, West Lancashire Rural District and Whiston) shall be operated solely by Liverpool Corpora, tion. Services between zone A and zone B (an area to the north of Bootle, 'containing Litberland and part of West Lancashire Rural District) shall be 'ixorked jointly and equally by the corporation and the Ribble company, the income to be divided equally.
Services to and from zone C (all areas outside A and B zones on the Lancashire side of the Mersey) are' to be operated by the companies. The Cornpanies.are to pay to the corporation 15 per cent, of the gross receipts from all passengers who make 'the whole journey within A zone and travel in the companies' vehicles to and from C zone.
The Garston and Pierheacl (via Brodie Avenue) route is to be operated by the corporation.
NOTICE TO QUIT.
THE location of the new starting point for coach excursions, hitherto operated from City Square, Leeds, was the subject of representations before the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners, last week.
The police supported the Commissioners' proposal that the terminus should, owing to alterations in traffic arrangements, be moved to Calverley Street, but opposition to this proposal was voice t on behalf of the 18 operators £36 concerned. It was submitted for the operators that Calverley Street was quite unsuitable from their point of view. They asked the Commissioners to fix the starting point at either Infirmary Street or The Calls, near the Corn Exchange.
Mr. J. Farridale, chairman said that the representations would be considered.
TROLLEYBLIS BILL WITHDRAWN.
FOLLO.WING opposition, Bournemouth Corporation has had to withdraw its trolleybus Provisional Order Bill, which seeks to authorize the inauguration of 10 miles of. new trolleybus routes, at a cost of £116,000. It is expected that the Bill will be reintroduced next December.
FUTURE LIMIT ON "SPECIALS."
AN important announcement regarding the granting of licences for " special " buses, where the routes are already Well served by other concerns,
was made by the Northern Scotland Traffic Commissioners, at Aberdeen, when permission to run one vehicle from Cowdray Hall to Craibstone Farm on August 4, with members of the Horticultural Society, was granted to Mr. George Scott (Rover Bus Services), Aberdeen. A protective fare' is to be charged.
Mr. Henry Riches, chairman, indicated that in future cases of a similar nature, the Commissioners would hesitate .before granting a licence to use a route which was already well supplied.

GAS-BUS TRIAL SUSPENDED.
