Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

-D I reason of the fact that certain ...Ulitypes of commercial vehicle Which figure in the range produced by the Stewart Motor COrporation, of Buffalo, New York, are marketed in Great Britain and Ireland through Morgan Hastings, Ltd., 42, Sussex Place, London, S.W.7, which is the sole concessionnaire, it is not without interest to refer to certain new models which the American concern has recently placed on the market.

• Two of these are lorries, one being intended for 30-cwt. loads and the other for 2-ton loads, The former is equipped with a six-cylindered engine, Bendix two-shoe brakes on all four wheels, and a four-speed gearbox, of which the

lowest ratio is 6.5 to 1, thus giving a ratio of 41.4 to 1 at the wheels. Radius rodsand a progressive arrangement of springing form part of the standard equipment.

The engine develops 61 b.h.p., and has Delco-Remy ignition, starter and. generator, and a Stromberg carburetter. The rear axle is of the semi-floating, spiral-bevel type. The new chassis is being supplied in four different lengths of wheelbase, the shortest being 11 ft. 4 ins., and the longest 14 ft. 8 ins. A wide range of equipment is included.

The new 2-ton chassis is also powered by a six-Cylindered engine, and in general, design it follows the construction of the smaller model; the clutch

is of the multiple-disc type, and it conveys the drive to a four-speed gearbox with similar ratios. This model is being supplied in three lengths of wheelbase, these being 12 ft. 1 in., 13 ft. 4 ins., and 14 ft. 8 ins. The chassis weight of the 1i-tonner is 3,840 lb., and of the two-tanner 4,180 lb.

At the same time the Stewart Motor Corpotation has also introduced two new de luxe panelled bodies, one for the 15-mq chassis and the other for the 114-ton chassis. The former is '7 ft. long and the latter 8 ft., the maximum width of the larger being 4 ft. 4 ins., which is also the height from the floorboards to the underside of the roof. Both these bodies are shapely in design and possess graceful curves which lend a note of distinctio'n and make them particularly suitable for use in the transport of high-doss goods.
