Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Owner-driver David Ruth of Bexhill, East Sussex has fitted an air-suspended tag axle to his 4x2 MAN F90 tractive unit to beat axle overloading problems caused by the extra weight of the fridge unit on his reefer.

The £4,300 conversion has been carried out by JS Keam of Whitstable, Kent, which specialises in body repairs and is an agent for Ray Smith and Ratcliffe. Keam also moved the fifth-wheel position to help with weight distribution.

Axle conversions are a relatively new field, says Keam director George Jenkins.
