Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of information which at the time we had no reason to doubt, it was stated that the longestablished name of Sparshatts was to disappear from the commercial vehicle world. This statement was not correct.

In fact, the Wadham Stringer commercial group acquired some two years the Leyland distributor and coachbuilding company of J. H. Sparshatt & Sons Ltd, of Portsmouth. Wadham Stringer have now decided that bodywork products by the Wadham Stringer commercial group will carry their own brand name Victory in place of the nameplate Sparshatts.

We have been asked to make clear that the Sparshatt business was founded by the late Mr J. H. Sparshatt who developed two separate commercial vehicle enterprises based in Portsmouth and Southampton. The Portsmouth enterprise was subsequently conducted by Mr J. H. Sparshatt junior, and it was this enterprise which was then acquired by Wadham Stringer. The Southampton based enterprise conducted by Mr George W. Sparshatt and members of his family continues in operation primarily from Andover as a commercial vehicle business and members of the family continue to trade actively as Sparshatts of Andover Limited. Members of the family of Mr J. H. Sparshatt also trade actively In the commercial vehicle and body building field through various companies bearing the name Sparshatt elsewhere in Hampshire and Kent.
