Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WOULD you kindly advise me as to the legal position " in the following case?

I was recently appointed garage and transport manager to a small firm operating some very old vehicles, all under A licences. Recently the owner has acquired a further lorry, bought from another user. Now he has asked me to transfer the number plates and the A licence from an old vehicle in his original fleet to that recently acquired.

fear that here there would be a breach of legal procedure, and that the Licensing Authority would object to art A licence being transferred in this manner.

Glasgow. Puzzu.o.

[It would be highly irregular to substitute one vehicle for another under a carrier's licence without the sanction

of the Licensing Authority. If discovered, there would certainly be a reprimand, possibly lega: action, and most likely withdrawal of the licence. It is also a most serious offence to transfer number plates, and would certainly lead to a heavy penalty if discovered.—En.}
