under the title " The Lincoln Weldirectory." MEETINGS OF THE INSTITUTE OF TRANSPORT

THE next luncheon and address of the Institute of Transport will be held at the Connaught Rooms, London, W.C.2. at 1 p.m., on February 11. The speaker will be Mr. W. H. Anse11, MC.. President of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

A lunch-hour informal meeting will be held at 12 45 on February 24, at the Institution ol Electrical Engineers, when Mr. C. F. King will speak on " Co-partnership in the Transport Industry." At the same institution, at 2.15 on February 14, Mr. S. B. Budworth, A.M.Inst.T., will give a paper on " The Problems of Post-war Transport," at a meeting of the Metropolitan Graduate and Student Society.

INTERESTING PAPER BEFORE I.A.E. GRADUATES

AT 3 p.m, on February 8, at 12, ifobart Place, London, S.W.1, Mr. F. H Bothamley will read a paper before the I.A.E. London Graduates, entitled " Power Plants in Prospect—a 20 Years' Prophecy."

MR. BRISTOW BEREAVED THE many friends of Mr. F G. Bristow, general secretary of the C.M.U.A., will join us in extending to him our deep sympathy on the loss of his wife, who died on January 24, following an operation.

VISCOUNT NUFFIELD'S SUCCESS WITH LORD AUSTIN MEMORIAL

ALUNCHEON in honour of the work performed by Viscount Nuffield in raising nearly £35.000 as a memorial to the late Lord Austin, is to be held at Grosvenor House, on February 25, by the Executive Committee of be Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund. The large sum mentioned is to form the nucleus of a perpetual endowment fund, and the occasion of this function will be taken by Lord Nuffield to transfer the money io the benevolent fund. A limited number of tickets is available at 10s. each from the secretary, 204, Great Portland Street, London, W.I.
