Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ATWO-CAR trailer added to the Tollbridge range is intended for use behind a car transporter prime mover and can be used also to form a loading ramp to the upper-deck in the case of a fixed-deck unit. Extra ramp members are provided to link the rear end of a transporter upper deck to the runners of the new model.

Since the load on the upper deck of a car transporter will overhang the trailer, the design provides for the front car on the trailer to be loaded with its nose down. This gives adequate clearance between the overhanging car at the back of the towing transporter and the front car on the trailer.

The overall length of the Tollbridge new car/transporter is 28 ft., the length of the platform is 23 ft. 5 in. and the width is 6 ft. with a carrying capacity of 2.5 tons. Its carrying platforms are designed for cars with a maximum width of 6 ft. It is a close-coupled four-wheeled trailer with independent suspension on all four wheels by rubber torsion units.

When not in use the loading ramps are carried in a special stowage space within the under-stressing of the trailer.

Large drum brakes are operated through a rod linkage system by an over-run device on a specially raised hitch. Standard equipment includes telescopic jockey wheel rubber wings.

Makers: Tollbridge Trailers Ltd., Lymington, Hants.

Price: £335 ex works, full road lighting is extra.
