Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hauliers have moved quickly to allay any fears that the decision by Fujitsu UK to cut 11,400 jobs worldwide will affect their drivers' jobs. Exel Logistics says there will be "no impact on ICI.", Fujitsu's UK subsidiary, for which it distributes software and computers.

Mark Harrison. of Sheffieldbased Toutes Directions, which also distributes for ICL, says there will not be a major impact on the firm: "We've never tried to put all our eggs into one basket in this sector. We don't give our work 100% to any technology firm."

Fujitsu's decision comes as part of a restructuring plan to counteract the worldwide decline in consumer demand for information technology. As CM went to press there were reports that Toshiba Is also shedding jobs.
