• South Yorkshire Fire Brigade has added five Atego fire engines to its 43-strong fleet and intends to replace the remaining 15 non-Mercedes-Benz appliances with the same product. The new fire engines are 13-tonne 4x2s with 280hp engines developing 1,100Nm torque. They feature Allison automatic boxes and can do 0-40mph in 14 seconds. The appliances are all built to "rescue pump" specification with Saxon bodywork and MacNeillie six-man crew-cabs.
