Chris Smith and Charles Kelly have joined the Bendix sales team. Smith becomes sales representative covering Leicester to Northumberland, and Kelly takes responsibility for Scotland and Ireland. Both will report to Derek Weston, sales manager, Bendix Parts.

who has 30 years' experience in distribution, will be assisted by quality assurance coordinator Ray Burglass, Their responsibility will be to make sure the division keeps its BS5750 certification.
• DCS GROUP ELLIS/JACOBS DCS Group, the international computer system supplier for the distribution industry, has appointd two new directors. Nick Ellis has become UK sales director after eight years' service. He was previously sales and marketing manager (UK operations). Ellis spent nine years at International Harvester where he became dealer manager.
Mark Jacobs is the new UK customer services director at DCS.
He was previously UK customer services manager, having joined the group in 1980 as systems analyst/programmer. He was later promoted to special projects manager and then spent four years as customer services manager for the for
• VBRA WH ITELOCK Peter Whitelock is now director of administration at the Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association, which represents 2,800 bodybuilders and repairers in the UK.
He was previously administration manager of KPMG Peat Marwick McLintock in Man chester. Before that he spent 18 years at The 600 Group, a machine tool manufacturing and distribution firm, where he became company secretary and group chief accountant.
• YORKSHIRE RIDER THOMPSON Yorkshire Rider's general manager for Leeds, Colin Thompson, has left after a year's service. He joined the firm's Leeds headquarters from Newport Transport in South Wales, where he was managing director.
