• Brian Hamer, trading as Gwynedd Treated 'limber, has been given six months to put his vehicle maintenance in order by North Western Licensing Authority Martin Albu at a Wrexham public inquiry.
Hamer was called to the inquiry after a maintenance investigation by a vehicle examiner proved unsatisfactory. Hamer's licence authorised the operation of two vehicles but at the time of the investigation only one vehicle was in possession,, the inquiry was told.
Albu read a statement by the vehicle examiner which said he had 'examined one vehicle in February, which he issued with an immediate prohibition for five dangerous items. Although the operator claimed that vehicles were inspected, no inspection records Were available. The condition of the vehicle was poor and it was in an unroadworthy condition.
Hamer said that since February the vehicle had been inspected regularly at threemonthly intervals.
Cutting the duration of the licence from July 1992 to December 1990, Albu said the way things were going Hamer was heading for an accident.
