• The exceptionally hot weather has been causing bus drivers to demand lighter uniforms and the right to leave their company tie at home.
Drivers for London Bus subsidiary Sutton Bus have complained about having to wear "heavy wool" uniforms — and at one London General garage, furious drivers even turned up in shorts.
