• South Wales haulier Jeffrey Thomas is selling his 30-strong fleet and renting out his 2ha (five-acre) site for industrial units. Thomas, owner of Pentlyne Haulage of Cowbridge, says that following the closure of most of the South Wales collieries, he sees no future in bulk haulage".
He has been trying to sell the firm as a going concern for two years, without success. His 30 trucks and 17 bulk trailers will be sold by auction on 10 October.
