Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• MAN has revealed details of its uprated right-hand-drive 17-tonne M90 rigids, which are due to arrive in the UK by the start of next year together with its revised F90 tractor range (CM 7-13 June).

The six-cylinder engine currently fitted in the 17.192F and 17.232F' 17-tonners has been reworked with an increase in capacity from 6.6 to 6.87litres. Although the two new rigids will retain nominal power

ratings of 142kW and 172kW (190 and 230hp) respectively, their torque outputs have been increased by up to 12%.

Peak torque from the D0826LF-01 engine fitted in the latest 17.192 is now 730Nm (545Ibft), while the 17.232's D0826LF-02 block pushes out 850Nm (627Ibft).

MAN-VW says the latest engines not only offer improved driveability but also lower exhaust and noise emissions, The new rigids are currently undergoing UK Type Approval along with MAN's latest F90 tractor range comprising its five-cylinder 32 and 38-tonne tractors, 272kW and 309kW (370 and 420bp) six cylinder 38-tonners and the vee-10 powered 17.502. Five and six cylinder 38-tonne tractor buyers will be offered a choice of either 4x2 or twin steer.

The 17.502 will have airsuspension as standard but, there will be no twin-steer. MAN still does not know when it will offer a high roof sleeper cab in the UK.

MAN-VW is planning to have all its new M90 and F90 models generally available in the UK well before the end of the first quarter in 1991... Operators visiting the MAN stand at the Motor Show will see three of the new HO tractors including the two-axle 17.502 and 17.322, plus a 6x2 22.422.
