• Bulk powder tank manufacturer Metalair has designed a three-compartment semi-trailer for British Salt.
The tri-axle carrier is made largely of aluminium and gives a 26.5-tonne payload with a volume of 29m3.
The first tanker has already been delivered to British Salt, and Metalair is working on a second. Metalair managing director Alan Stevens says "several" are likely to be built.
The tanker, which is fitted directly on to BPW suspension, has Metalair's own aeration discharge system.
