Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Freight Transport Association is looking to increase its membership in Northern Ireland following a visit this week by FTA director general Garry Turvey.

Although current FTA membership in the province is around 90, Gordon Dougall, the ETA's Scottish regional controller who has responsibility for Northern Ireland, expects it to grow to 250 within three years.

The association now has a full-time vehicle inspector based in Belfast with a number of contracts established, including a health board. With the tightening up of drivers' hours there has also been "consdierable interest" in the F1'A's Freight Check tachograph analysis service.

Irish hauliers interested in joining can contact FTA representative Crawford Gourlay on 0247 473603.
