TANDEM-axle rubber suspension running gear designed to 19,3 tonnes (19 tons) gross weight capacity has been announced by Dyson for fitment to tankers and other semi-trailer applications.
Metalastik rubber/stee sandwich springs are used as the suspension medium anc they are so fitted to act mainl} under shear as far as loac carrying is concerned anc under compression to contro vehicle roll.
Telescopic hydraulic dampers control suspensior rebound axles, rocker beam and locating arms are rubbei mounted to reducE maintenance and eliminat( noise and with a 1.5m (5ft axle spread overall length i5 2,6 m (8.5ft) and height to tor of frame is 1 m (3.3ft) unit: with alternative axle-spread: are available.
