Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new range of six-wheel conversions by Universal Power Drives Ltd. on the Commer Maxiload chassis is now available. These latest models are fully approved by Rootes and they are produced in five wheelbase lengths, being designed for operation at 20 and 22 tons gross.

The conversion features an Eaton 30DT two-speed double-drive bogie with lockable third differential and Hendrickson RT350 two-spring suspension. Except for the bogie. the Maxiload mechanical specification is retained including the Rootes 135 bhp twostroke horizontally opposed three-cylinder diesel, five speed gearbox and full air brakes. With the conversion double-diaphragm lock actuators are fitted at both rear axles for the secondary and parking brakes. Brake sizes are 15.5in. diameter all round with 6in.-wide shoes at the front axle and 7in. at both rears.

With 10.00-20, 16-ply tyres the six-wheel conversion adds £ 1,463 to the basic price of the Maxiload.

The accompanying table shows the models available with weight and dimension details. The wheelbases quoted refer to the distance from the front-axle centreline to the centreline of the bogie.
