• For the year ending March 31 last, a pre-tax increase in profits from £319,944 to £402,605—some 26 per cent—is announced this week by Atkinson Lorries (Holdings) Ltd. In his statement, the chairman, Mr. A. W. Allen. said that the group results for the year were the best achieved to date, with records set in both profits and turnover, the latter at £6,988.674.

Atkinson's output of chassis increased by six per cent in the home market and by 65 per cent overseas. In Australia the group turnover exceeded Lim for the first time and the local content of chassis now tops 50 per cent, believed to be the highest of any manufacturer in that Continent.
