Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An education convention for small operators is being organized by the North Western (Eastern) division of the Road Haulage Association in conjunction with the Road Transport Industry Training Board. It will he held at the Clifton Hotel, Southport, Lancashire, on December 6. 7 and 8 with working sessions Friday evening. Saturday morning, afternoon and evening and Sunday morning.

It is expected that about 30 managers and executives from small firms in the area will attend and that this will be the first of many such meetings.

Speakers at the convention will include Mr. Edgar Williams of Williams Bros. (Wales) Ltd., who will discuss productivity; Mr. R. H. Butt, ex-RHA national chairman on "Labour Relations", and the RTITB North Western training manager, Mr. H. M. Floyd, will outline the Board's aims. Other subjects to receive attention will be road haulage costs, vehicle security and personnel management.

Chairman of the convention will be Mr. J. A. Broster. the North West's representative to the RHA national education committee, and the secretary is Mr. W. M. Farnorth. RHA, Manchester.
