LONG-DISTANCE MEETING POSTPONED

THE meeting of the long-distance I hauliers' committee of the Road Haulage Association, which was to have been held last Tuesday, has been postponed until next Tuesday. It may be significant that the clearing house group will meet the next day.

As The Commercial Motor reported last week, there is ill feeling between the two sections of the Association. Its basis appears to be the extent to which return loads may be solicited by hauliers. Only clearing houses are allowed to advertise for return loads in ".The Road Way," the Association's official organ, although some hauliers would like to do so.

The main purpose of the longdistance hauliers' meeting is to consider a publicity campaign.
