One problem that has proved very bard to solve is that of providing the maxi; mum of comfort and convenience for the public in all weathers. The open type of coach is still quite popular in some districts which are much frequented by holiday-makers, but the uncertainty of our climate—the so-called summer of this year supports the statement—is such that the all-weather type of vehicle is gaining considerable vogue. The latter has much to recommend its use, especially to the man in a small way of business, as it places him in the favourable position of being able to study the comfort of the public at all times of the year. Moreover, in some instances this enables him, in spite of his somewhat limited resources, to compete with the large companies, which sometimes run big fleets, comprising both the open and closed types of coach.

In short, a well-designed all-weather vehicle, at a reasonable priedz would seem to be ideal for the small busowner's purposes, inasmuch as it attracts passengers at all times of the year.

Realizing the demand for a coach with these features, Mr. W. L. Thurgood, Church Street, Ware, Hefts, has designed and patented a special allweather body which is suitable for 14-16, 20 and 26-seater vehicles. A large number of these is now being mounted on Chevrolet 20-25-cwt. and similar chassis.
