Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CM has a new test semi-trailer for road tests and operational trials of two-axle tractive units at 38 tonnes gcw.

The 12.2m (40ft) long curtainsider supplied by York Trailer has a design gross trailer weight of 33,500kg (32.97 tons). Its three York axles, each with a maximum design weight of 8,130kg (8 ton), are mounted on York 1ST multi-leaf suspension with a bogie spread of 2.7m (8ft 10in) to give a British maximum axle load of 7,500kg (7.38 tons). The load sensed braking system is compatible with two or three line tractive units.

Interior height is 2,285mm (7ft 6in) to give an overall height, from the 203mm deep king pin neck to roof of 2,666mm (8ft 9in).

The front bulkhead is fitted with a grp air deflector with a radius of 76.2mm (3in).

The semi-trailer's unladen weight is 6,560kg (6.4 tons).

Our first operational trial using the York trailer is with a Seddon Atkinson 401 powered by Gardner's turbocharged 8LXCT and is on p47 this week.
