A The summary of drivers' hours and emergency provisions reproduced below was produced by the Department of the Environment in response to many inquiries about this subject.
The EEC driving hours regulations are tentatively to come into operation in the UK on July 1, but the Government is expected to obtain a further deferment until the end of 1977 as the result of discussions going on in Brussels at the moment.
It is unlikely that ambulance drivers will be subject to the hours rules outlined in the summary shown here when the EEC regulations do apply, however.
