THE NATIONAL Freight Corporation has appointed G. B. Ward as general manager of Harold Wood and Sons of Heckmondwike. Mr Ward is at present commercial manager of the company.
He joined Harold Wood in 1974 as depot manager and became commercial manager the following year.
Also at National Freight J. E. Armstrong is promoted to marketing director of Tankfreight from general manager of Harold Wood.
Mr Armstrong has had 10 years' experience in sales and product management with companies which include BP and Cyanamid.
Ted Ladkin has put away his driving gloves after 46 years with just two companies, Federated Road Transport of Market Harborough and British Road Services.
And he has been presented with a cheque to mark his retirement by Federated direc
