THE vital role of road haulage in the co-ordination of cargo movements will be one of the main themes at the seventh Conference of the International Cargo Handling Co-ordination Association to be held in Paris from May 18 to 22.

A paper will be given by Mr. F. G. Freund, director, traffic department of the American Trucking Associations Inc., which will make recommendations for improved practices and procedures in connection with co-ordinating movements of export and import cargo between the road haulier and ocean-going vessels. Relevant documentation, container development and identification through a system of code marking will also be discussed.
