14 chassis/front end which has been introduced by Bluebird Caravans Ltd., of Park stone, Dorset. Named the Versatility, the new van will be exhibited to operators at the Austin show this summer and is intended to offer a compact and competitively priced vehicle of relatively high capacity-260 Cu. ft.

Weighing little more than the standard J4, the Versatility offers a payload of 15 cwt, including the driver, within the maximum permitted gross weight of 4,250 lb. This is with the standard 6.4014 tyres. The body is of composite construction, with +-in.-resin-bonded plywood flooring, hardwood frame and 20 s.w.g. light alloy exterior panelling.

Three versions of the Versatility are offered: with a rear roller shutter, or with double full-length doors, or with a gown-van single door—the tatter version heaving interior panelling in veneered ply, gown rails and a security lock. The standard van with double doors or shutter costs £666 15s. (body price £230); various extras are available and a diesel engine can be specified in place of the standard petrol unit for an extra £85.
