The work I have in view is the conveyance of about 40 tons per day of quarry stone to the railway sidings. The distances are respectively 11 miles and 2 miles, and I shall be using a hydraulic tipper carrying 4-5 tons of .stone per journey. What price per ton should I obtain? "
There is no prescribed form of contract. You should charge a flat rate of Is. 2d. per ton for the haulage of quarry stone over 11-2 miles. If you wish to differentiate between the two distances you might charge Is. Id. per ton for 11 miles and Is. ad. per ton for two miles.
