Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

" I have been asked to quote for the supply of a 3-ton lorry on yearly contract. The mileage would be 90 per day and 6s. 6d. per hour has been suggested as a reasonable figure. Do you think this satisfactory? "

According to our view, 6s. 6d. per hour will not show sufficient profit, especially bearing in mind the mileage that you are expected to cover. The bare cost of operation will approximate to 5s. 6d. per hour, leaving only is. per hour for all establishment costs, contingencies and profit. Moreover, you do not seem to have made provision for an allowance for excess mileage. You should ask for 7s. per hour as a minimum and charge at least 6d. per mile for any mileage in excess of 80 per day.
