Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Daf Finance has waived arrears owed by "Supergun" haulier Paul Ashwell on one of his two trucks.

Ashwell's repayments on two Leyland Daf trucks were 22,300 a month, but he fell behind while being held in a Greek jail when the vehicles were standing idle. Forward Trust, financier for one of the trucks, had been "very understanding", according to Ashwell's accountant Ivan Renshaw, and accepted what Ashwell could afford.

Last week Daf Finance contacted Ashwell's company, Ben Haulage, threatening to take away his truck if money was not paid towards hire purchase arrears. But now, after an article in a Sunday newspaper, Daf Finance has relented and approached Ashwell with an offer of a reconstituted deal.
