NI Fraser Dryburgh (above) and business partner Paul Beresford left RoSPA to set up their own defensive driving training school last year. Their customers include hauliers Abel of East Anglia, Fordham of Wolverhampton and Thompson Cook of Redditch, along with PSV companies Durham Travel and Stevensons of Uttoxeter.
Their firm, Defensive Driver Training, of Oldbury, West Midlands, arranges courses for drivers at a cost of 275 per driver per day for groups of six. Most clients say the investment pays back several times over in reduced insurance, fuel and maintenance, claims Dryburgh. "One realised a 7.5% reduction in his fuel bill alone."
