• The Foster Fire-Ban is designed to instantly cut the power from a vehicle's battery in the event of an impact above 35km/h (22mph) or a roll-over accident. It fits between the battery and the earth lead, taking only minutes to install.
In the event of an accident the mercury that normally conducts the current is displaced breaking the circuit in just 0.006sec. according to Foster.
To re-activate the Fire-Ban and reconnect the current, a key is inserted into the centre screw and turned clockwise until it stops, kept there for 10 seconds and then turned anti-clockwise again until it stops.
During a promotional period the Fire-Ban costs /19.95 plus delivery.
