VW debut
VOLKSWAGEN has launched its first diesel engine for industrial use.
Developed from the Golf engine, it develops 33kW (45bhp) at 4,000rpm from a capacity of 1,471cc (90cuin).
It is a four-cylinder watercooled design with a beltdriven overhead camshaft and swirl combustion chamber design. The weight of the unit is 129kg (2831b).
Vehicle lift
TECALEMIT Garage Equipment of Belliver Industrial Estate, Roborough, Plymouth, has added a new 16-tonne vehicle lift to its range.
Designated DSL 4, it is designed for the servicing of commercial vehicles and buses. It is surface mounted with an overall length of 8.6m (28ft) and a width of 3.7m (12ft). Vehicles of varying width are accommodated by adjustment of the right-hand track. Maximum lifting height is 1.6m (5ft 3in).
Lashing winch
A LASHING winch for ro-ro trailers is now available from SpanSet Ltd of Stanley Road, Knutsford, Cheshire. It consists of an under platform mounted spool fixed inside the trailer body and an externally mounted 5-tonne capacity tensioning winch.
