A Z F six-speed :onstant-mesh gearbox transrifts the torque of 665Nm (4901bft) to the DAF-built rear axle.

Kerb weight

Parabolic springs are fitted at the rear of the 2100 (compared with all round on the 2300).

The kerb weight of a 2100 tractive unit fitted with the DHR engine and the short cab is 5.18 tonnes (5 tons 2cwt). By the DAF system this includes five gallons of fuel, spare wheel and tools.

Other new DAF models being introduced at Frankfurt are rigid versions of the 2300 series in 4x2 and 6x4 configuration.
