MR. A. W. BRACE has taken charge of the surface-finishing activities of the chemical division of Aluminium Laboratories, Ltd.
MR. R. A. Ross has become general line representative of the Avon India Rubber Co., Ltd., in Argyll, Dunbartonshire, Stirlingshire and Glasgow north of the Clyde
MR. A. E. S. GOURLAY, A.M.I.Mech E., 1v1.1.Mar.E., has been appointed technical sales representative in Scotland to the Sheepbridge Group of Companies. For the past 16 years, Mr. Gourlay has been director and the general manager of Clews Petersen Piston Ring and Engineering, Ltd., one of the southern companies of the Sheepbridge Engineering Group.
MR. F. V. BARKER, as director of manufacturing of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., is to be responsible for the production, production control and standards departments of the company. MR. H. T. JOHNSON, director of planning and facilities, will assume operating responsibility for forward planning and development production engineering, sheet metal production engineering and plant construction and maintenance. MR. A. J. PERRiarr, acting chief inspector, will report directly to MR. J. R. PEARSON, executive assistant to the managing director. These changes have been made to obtain more effective co-ordination between the technical departments and to spread the 'load of the company's expansion programme more evenly. Mr. Barker was formerly director and factory manager, and Mr. Johnson director of forward planning and development.

MR. ORLANDO OLDHAM and MR. P. J. BROCKLEHURST have been appointed directors of Oldham and Son, Ltd MR. A. EATON-CLARK E has been appointed regional sales manager, tyres, for London and the Home Counties, of the North British Rubber Co., Ltd. He succeeds MR. L. J. EVANS, who is soon to retire. MR. T. A. Leicester. MR. H. K. KNIGKI, sales representative in Bristol, has been appointed assistant to Mr. Bayliss and will operate from Birmingham. With this rearrangement of areas, MR. W. A. BOWER, formerly in charge at Leicester, Leeds and Manchester, will now he regional sales manager for Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle. MR. K. G. LOWERY, previously Newcastle representative, has been made special representative, giant tyres, and will operate from Castle Mills, Edinburgh.
LUBRICATION ENGINEERS' GROUP
APERMANENT group of lubrication engineers is to be formed to represent those specialists in a branch of engineering which, it is felt, has not received sufficient recognition. At a pilot meeting held at the works of S. Fox and Co., Ltd., Stocksbridge Works, near Sheffield, Mr. G. D. Jordan referred to the desire among lubrication engineers in this country for an organization to promote the importance of lubrication engineering.
Support is being solicited from interested parties, and at a future meeting questions of qualifications for membership, finance and other matters will he discussed and resolved.
