Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE increasing cost of petrol in America, especially in States where there are heavy taxes, has brought about a stronger demand for oil-engined commercial vehicles. To meet this need, the White Motor Co. has introduced a new range of oil-engined units.

Unladen weights are lighter than is the case with most corresponding American vehicles, and the design is such that exceptionally large payloads can be carried in States where restricted axle loadings are enforced.

The Cummins NHB-600 oil engine is being employed. The specification includes a single-reduction fully floating rear axle of 5.57 ratio, and a front axle of the 12D reversed-Elliott type. An unusual feature is the employment of a vertical exhaust pipe and expansion chamber at the right rear corner of the cab. The instrument panel is of the built-in type with a detachable subpanel to facilitate servicing the instruments.

In order to meet the requirements of the II Western States, a special range of White Western oilers is being manufactured. These machines have standard bodies, but employ a special transmission system which provides additional gear reductions.
