ISSUE OF FODEN SHARES

THE strain on the financial resources of Fodens, Ltd., as a result of its I arge turnover (which exceeded £2,000,000 last year), the increased cost of materials and the need for carrying higher stocks, has resulted in the company making a decision to issue further ordinary shares. Of the authorized capital of £550,000 in £1 shares of this class, a total of £345,825 has already been issued.

NORTH WESTERN PLANS

PLANS have been formulated by the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., to purchase 214 new buses by the end of 1952 at a cost of nearly £700,000. Some 74 vehicles will, it is expected, be delivered between September 1, 1949, and December, 1950.

Last year the company's buses covered 24,500,000 miles.

AYR BUS STATION PROJECT

PLANS for a new Western Scottish Motor Traction bus station at Ayr were made known recently. At a cost of £16,000, the project, which but for the intervention of war, would have been realized long ago, will entail demolition, alteration and erection of buildings and will provide covered

platforms with guide rails for the various routes.

Part of the existing main building in Sandgate will be converted into a comfortable waiting-room. At the moment the company is handicapped by not having enough vehicles, and although orders are being filled slowly it still requires a considerable number of buses.
