PETER THOMPSON and his colleagues started something infectious when they floated the scheme to buy the National Freight Co. The management of Sellers and Batty, the ERF and MAN/VW light-vehicle distributor at Hatfield, Herts, has now bought the company from the Lex Service Group.
The name has been changed to S and B Commercials but not because Ronald Holmes, managing director of the new company, believed people would think he was batty to go independent at a time like this.
