Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

1RD'S 1983 model year TL : middleweights and VAS 3 bus chassis will have higher-powered variants Iford's 3.6-litre and 5.4led Series turbocharged S.

brd rear axles for the eweights and bus and models have been reed, and certain overdrive )xes will be replaced by top versions, and from

all European specificaedfords from the lightest to the heaviest TM will turbocharged engines, -I naturally aspirated enwill continue to be avail'or non-European export ts.

'ord has also introduced d cab interior improvefor the 1983 TL and TM, ere is to be a new engine , the Cummins L10, model, for two TM rigids ro TM tractive units.

ges to the Phase Two Red engines include a Bosch ype in-line fuel injection for the 5.4-litre engine, ind boost pressure from the Holset and Garrett Air Research turbochargers; strengthened main bearing cap bolts (diameter increased by 15mm) to cope with the higher crankshaft loads; new Isoformic pistons with controlled expansion for closer tolerances and reduced engine noise emission; increased oil pump capacity on the 5.4-litre engine and on the same engine improved cooling efficiency from new twin thermostats.

The uprated 3.6-litre engine (now standard on 5.5 to 7.5 tonne TK/TL models) develops 65kW (87bhp) net at 2,600rpm and 273Nm (198Ibft) of torque at 1,600rpm which the 5.4-litre engine's maximum power and torque tatings are increased to, respectively, 101 kW (135bhp) at 2,600rpm and 407Nm (299Ibft) of torque at 1,600 rpm. The Phase One 5.4 litre turbocharged engine is being retained as a lower power (107bhp) option.

Irrespective of which engine is specified, TK/TL and VAS and SB chassis for 1983 will have the latest Bedford gearboxes and rear axles.

The current 11-tonne Bedford heavy duty spiral axle used on the 15/16 tonne chassis has been modified as a hypoid design. This axle will also be used to replace bought-in units on Bedford-powered TM chassis.

A larger crown wheel and pinion made from casehardened steel is now being fitted to the Bedford axles used on 5.5 to 8.5 tonne models and internal changes have been made to improve oil circulation and reduce frothing.

Direct top gearboxes, both four and five speed, now replace the overdrive versions in front of Bedford's medium duty axles. New lower diff ratios from 3.89 to 6.8 allow the same maximum geared speeds to be achieved without the use of less mechanically efficient overdrive gears.

TL cab interior changes for 1983 include a new Donegal Tweed seat triin and a Bostromdesigned (non-suspension) driver's seat with a wider range of adjustment than was previously offered. Also new on TL are tubeless radial tyres as standard, a new five function rear lamp cluster, electronic tachograph and optional anti-roll bars.

The TM cab interior has undergone more improvements. The instrument panel layout has been changed — by turning the panel through 180° the position of the tachometer and driver's air vent have been transposed, and improved ventilation for the driver results.

Cab interior lighting has been improved, as has trim quality and the redesigned header rail shelf has a more convenient radio location. Sundym tinted glass is now standard for side windows on full width (F and H) cabs and sleeper cabs have a new upper bunk and panelled-in and insulated rear and rear quarter windows apertures.
