THE big American passenger and goods concern, Greyhound of Chicago, has established a holding company in Switzerland under the name of Greyhound Holding AG. Based on Lucerne, the company is to set up subsidiaries and participate in other companies in Europe.
This is the first direct establishment in Europe of the Greyhound Co. and it comes at a time when two companies in the Greyhound group have themselves decided to set up in Europe. These latter concerns are Home's Enterprises Inc. (Bayard, Florida), which operates a chain of roadhouses in .the States, and Prophet Co. (Detroit, Michigan).
The 180,000th Passenger : The 12.25 p.m. bus from Edinburgh to Dunfermline on Thursday of last week carried the 100,000th passenger on the joint services operated over the Forth Road Bridge by Alexander and Sons (Fife) Ltd. and Scottish Omnibuses Ltd.
