Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Leyland Daf marketing director Christopher Thorneycroft-Smith has presented £8,050 to The Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital, and a 7.5-tonne Roadrunner boxvan to haulier Michael Kidman in the closing ceremony of our Runnerthon competition.

Kidman won the Runnerthon truck by correctly guessing the distance it had clocked up since last May (16,0941nn). As promised, Leyland Daf donated 50 pence for every kilometre covered. Hospital finance manager Ray Goodier says the money will buy a set of infusion pumps used to administer drugs to small children. They cost 22,000 apiece. The Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital is continuing to struggle — the Government cut its funding by £31,000 this year, on top of a V77,000 cut last year. It is desparately short of cash.

Kidman has free use of the Runnerthon Roadrunner for a year; it will be kept busy at his Huntingdon, Combs base.
